Many travellers don’t even know it exists, or that it’s only a few minutes up the highway from one of the most popular beach towns in the country. Due to its unfamiliarity on the tourist trail, it retains the rustic charm that makes places like this so attractive.

Ruta de las Flores is one of the most famous and visited destinations in El Salvador. Hidden along the Apaneca hills in the west side of the country, it includes a group of picturesque towns. There are many things to do while exploring these Colonial towns: visit a weekly food festival, hike to the Seven Waterfalls, take a coffee tour, or go ziplining. For the best chances of amazing blooms, visit this area between November and February.
