"Is it safe?". It absolutely is, however it has a very unwarranted reputation as being dangerous. This is partly because propaganda due to their Capitalist views and also blowing out of proportion the numbers. Basically there are a few small places that had a few years of violence. But this violence was gang on gang. It was literally in like two neighborhoods in the city of San Salvador. They manipulate the numbers because the country is so small and they use data that isn't really supportive of these claims. This has also not been an issue for the past few years.
